Developmental Editing: Involves a thorough examination of the ​structure, content, and flow of your manuscript to assist you in ​shaping and enhancing your story. This service includes ​comments within the manuscript using track changes, a revision ​letter, and a follow-up call to go over the edits and plan the next ​steps.

Line Editing: Focuses on polishing your manuscript by honing ​sentence structure, word choice, and overall readability to ensure ​your writing is clear and engaging.

Manuscript Evaluation: Similar to a developmental edit, a ​manuscript assessment involves a thorough evaluation of your ​finished manuscript, but without detailed in-text notes. This ​cost-effective choice provides a fresh perspective from a ​skilled editor. Expect to receive a detailed multi-page letter ​highlighting the strengths and weaknesses of your ​manuscript, along with an evaluation of its marketability.

Beta Reading: A general read of your manuscript to identify the ​strengths and weaknesses in regard to the manuscript’s reading ​experience. Includes one page of feedback addressing overall ​impressions.

Pitch Consultation: Have an idea for a book but are not sure ​whether to move forward to the writing stage? This 15 minute call-​session is the perfect option for authors who want to chat about ​their book idea and, in return, receive insight into genre, POV ​choice, and potential comparative texts.

Inclusivity Editing: Assessment that involves looking for ​harmful and disruptive language, character building, and world-​building relating to topics such as representation of cultural ​identities, race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual ​orientation, age, socioeconomic status, mental health, health, ​disability. Similar to a developmental edit but with the focus ​being the creation of an inclusive narrative.

Authenticity Reading: Often called sensitivity reading, ​authenticity reading involves reviewing your manuscript to ensure ​accurate and respectful representation of experiences and ​perspectives that may not be part of your lived experience. The ​topics I read for include: African American experiences, Women’s ​narratives, Bisexual and Demisexual identities, plus size identity ​and body positivity, and domestic violence experiences.

Inclusivity Editing: Inclusivity editing is a service that is a ​combination of developmental editing and inclusive language editing. ​Each project is unique, so you will receive a personalized proposal ​outlining the timeline and project fee.
